The Five Whys and Some Unexpected Answers

You’ve probably already heard or seen videos about The Five Whys Technique. It is generally meant to find the root-cause for a problem, or the reason why we want to do something. Though you may sometimes get some funny results, this technique may lay bare the motives hidden behind your actions. For example:

1) Why …do I want those new leggings?
Because my old ones are pretty worn off.

2) Why are they pretty worn off?
Because I train with weights in gym 5-6 days per week.

3) Why do I train with weights in gym 5-6 days per week?
Because I want to build muscle.

4)Why do I want to build muscle?
Because I want to be strong in my 50s, 60s and beyond.

5)Why do want to be strong in my 50s, 60s and beyond?
Because I want to be in a kick-ass shape and do whatever I want🙂!

Viktor Frankl says in his book Man’s Search For Meaning that if you know WHY, you will find out HOW.
I will repeat that – if you know why, you will find out how!

If we really want to get into our best shape and keep it for life, or even improve it over the years; we need to give ourselves a very solid reason WHY we want to do this. Because… I’m not going to lie to you – you need a CAST-IRON reason to commit yourself to go gym/or do workouts at home/or whatever you prefer; to plan your activities; to eat at least 80% healthy foods; to rest adequately – and that goes till the end.

WHY would you do that? You don’t need five whys. You do that because it is good for YOU. It is good for your health; you will remain strong and healthy and you will live an INDEPENDENT LIFE till… you have no enemies left anymore because they will all have long gone🙂.

Without further ado, let’s get down to work(out), shall we 💪🙂!
